It was cool for when i was in h. I have not and you probably will not see another nicer factory paint del sol. Still has spare tire never mounted and factory jack etc. I want to get the best for my car. Very very very clean, especially for milano red and being that it is all, i repeat all original paint. As for the K-series swaps, lots of people are putting those in their Civics nowadays. When i purchased it this last year, i received the original title from the dealership with a date of 1993 and original msrp etc.
A victim of questionable reliability and poor sales, it would ride off into the sunset. The car leaks no oil and runs very strong. Sorry if this is in the wrong thread im a nuub to the website also. Im a young kid just trying to learn about everything and what will be best for my car. How long it will last depends on what kind of shape the motor is in, and how well it's tuned once you apply boost. Just a awesome really rare car. Only selling due to no time to play with it.
Unfortunately, the Civic Del Sol didn't really offer that much of a performance boost and the targa top was prone to leaks and noise. Clean title, no accidents currently at 166,881 but I drive it on weekends. Very well maintained, only factory B16 car currently for sale. I'm guessing you bought the car with the turbo kit on it already? New refinements included a trunk release latch added near the driver side seat, a low fuel indicator light was added, and new seat materials were used. The base engine in the S model was increased to 1. Very low vin production number 0041.
If the clearance issues were that bad nobody would be doing it. The only options on both models were a rear spoiler and floor mats. If you can decipher that your engine is a 1. Also i did see clearence problems for the k24 engines haven't seen any yet for the k20. The compression on that motor is pretty high. I am the third owner, the previous owner had it since 1999.
Comes with original keys with classic honda colorado key chain and owners manual with warranty info packet and in original classic honda case. I was lookin into a h22 engine and did read a lot about weight problems and suspension, and motor mounts. I do however agree with stock98ekcoupe the k-series are way to expensive and are not worth the price. Its been done before in del sols but the figures I seen for cost are between 8k and 10k for the complete swap, If you have that kind of money lying around then by all means take on the project if you have some experience in swaps. I think ive narrowed down to a b18 for sure.
That's where the cost adds up. The rumors seemed confirmed when the 1996 front bumper was redesigned that eliminated the holes needed to fit auxillary lights and low side vents were added. Maybe 2 door dings on the whole car and one small scratch on front bumper. And yes, they are expensive, but then again, to build up a B16 to K20A2 or K20Z power levels is going to take bank anyway, so I guess it kind of depends on how you want to go about it. Recent service by Kuni honda, brand new tires less than 500 miles on them, brand new exhaust same time. Ive found a K20a2 for 4k complete change over plus shipping and handling which will be another pretty penny. If your looking for a collector grade del sol here it is.
Either that, or you pay a shop to take care of every single aspect of your car? Has a car cover and straps that come with it. Is the price that significant to where im just lookin at the wrong sites. Great little car and plenty fun with the top off. Yes i did not know what engine i had. Also has a believed to be factory original but i have never seen another one, del sol vtec rainbow pin stripe down both sides of the car.
The power and tuning potential of those engines must be worth it to the people running them. The Si engine also received a very minor power gain. Has probably installed originally by dealer chrome around wheel wells that is 90' s cool but could be easily removed or painted black if wanted. I'd probably avoid the Type R if you plan on boosting. A B-series swap is easier to install and you can use stock Integra or Del Sol mounts, so the overall cost is going to be a lot lower than a K-series swap.
