For the other people in the movie, they are not good for anything. He actually has some pretty funny lines inthefilm, especially at the end when they are preparing tosky-dive. But, I did laugh out loud more than once, andatleast found myself chuckling throughout most of it. There's a funny appearance by Roger Moore who was a former James Bond and there's a funny scene by Felicia who tells a guy to be careful with her luggage cause she claims that they're worth more than what he makes in a year. Iespeciallyliked the performance of Cuba Gooding Jr.
Anyone know how to get this smell out of my sofa? For me personally I thought that Roger Moore was the best. Somewhere there is a film executive that for some reason known only to his alien masters, is hell-bent on casting Cuba Gooding Jr as a comedy star. The scripting of this film was subparwith many good opportunities missed for humor. So when this film openedwith that I immediately got on edge a feeling that didn't change forthe rest of the film. After a while, the crew picks up the sea with boat models from Sweden.
And i am a big Horatio Sanz fan, but who isn't?!. And I guess it is really hard to make a comedythat people would consider a masterpiece. The fact that it was a gay cruise turned out to be veryintegral to the plot and made it most interesting. The only difference is that they had boobs in them and were funny and Boat Trip doesn't have either. I watched the movie in spite of the poorratings awarded at this site and Rotten Tomatoes too.
Jerry and Nick are two best buddies whose love lives have hit rock bottom. Boat Trip is not a serious film, and it is not supposed to be. Boat Trip isn't a bad idea for a movie, 2 straight guys go on a cruise looking for love, only to find that its a gay cruise and all their fellow cruisers are men. However, I was surprised to find that themovie is not bad at all. Happy and full of hope for the success of Love, Jerry and Nick sit on the ship, and only now realize that it is a cruise for gay men, their meetings and visits.
His acting in the film is very much different than one might expect and creates another, more human, feeling to the film. Roselyn Sanchez, who plays the ship's dance instructor, was a standoutin the cast. The premise of the story was that two straight men desperate for womenare booked on gay cruise ship. About a half hour in they run into a all-female Swedish sun tanning team don't ask so we can have juvenile sexist sex jokes and show women in tiny bikinis. After reading many reviews for this film I feared the worst. Roselyn Sanchez is absolutely stunning and delivers a solid performance. Well, I thought this movie was pretty funny.
It's hillarious, and the laughs just keep on coming. He rolls his eyes, screams like a woman, and plays drunk like a five-year-old showing how daddy behaved at Aunt Lurleen's wedding. As the true nature of their situation gradually dawns on them, they start to get over their feelings of homophobia and meet potential mates. One of the rare moments of inspired comedy was the casting of RogerMoore as one of the gay patrons aboard the ship. Unfortunately for them theyonly realise this after they have set sail. The absurd facial expressions of Gooding, Jr. Two straight guys on a gaycruise.
Without laughs the story isexposed for the predictable, puerile mess that it is. Roger Moore co-stars, and I wasn't shocked or disappointed or disgusted assome other commenters appear to have been to see the great former JamesBond, 007 make an appearance in the film, playing a double-oh-gay,double-okay sort of old poof. Unfortunately, itturns out to be a gay cruise. Looking how sad Jerry is, his friend Nick decides to do something to cheer him up, and they book a trip on a board in a cruise-liner, to have a week for rest and meeting new women. I am not ashamed about it. Roselyn Snachez is simply put hot, and the overall story line is comic, and reminiscent of the stupid B comedies of the 80's. What they don't know, is that it is a gay cruise-liner! Well, my wife got it, but we're not here to lay blame.
The cast don't help the material and seem to just accept the level thatit is at. Offended by friends, an employee of travel agency sold them cruise to the Ship of Love. I think that is quitefair, in my opinion. She recently threw Jerry, and he now suffers from emotional pain. Why people like Gunton, Silvstedt and Roundtreebothered is beyond me. The dim-witted straight duo soon discover that they've set to sail to the Caribbean on a gay cruise.
I can assure you that if you are interested in seeing a surprising good and funny film, watch Boat Trip. Roger Moore plays more than just a bit part in the movie, and when he is on screen, he is absolutely funny. You have to watch it for yourself and judge for yourself. Sanchezdominates with a sexy and natural performance but that is mainly downto just how very average everyone else is. Right from the get go, therewas hilarious laugh, after laugh, after laugh. It was all in good fun.
Mooreputs his heart into his role but at times he does himself no favoursand pushed it too far. I'm sick and tired of all gay men being shown as lisping, feminine people. The scenery is great -Imean, you've got the Swedish suntanning team prancing around in bikinis, providing proof that Swedes aren't all a bunch of square-heads afterall. Gooding overacts constantly--he got annoying real quick can we take back that Oscar he got? I come not to praise, but to bury this rancid, steaming pile of dreck. To make things worse the film throws in a few short lines about how great gay people are--then goes right back to comic gay-bashing. But she dumped him by another guy, making him feel bad for many months.
